Abstract: The present study is aimed at discerning the awareness of teacher educators on Open Educational Resources (OER) as well as to identify the barriers in the success of OER. Mixed method employing questionnaire and interview is used for data collection. Data is collected from 40 teacher educators of Maharshi Dayanand University and Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. The results of the study reveal a high degree of uncertainty about OER among teacher educators and; also identifies a lack of knowledge about finding and using OER to be the main barrier in the success of OER. The study highlights the importance of campaigns and workshops on OER for taking it to the masses.
